Project Description

UCLA Extension and GCI Cyber Certificate Program for CISOs

UCLA Extension and GCI Cyber Certificate Program for CISOs is the first-of-its-kind program and certification process. It provides relevant technical experience and exposure to emerging technologies, instruction and insight around policies, programs, and protocols needed to implement effective cybersecurity programs. Additionally, it provides valuable insight into the legal, social, and political dynamics at play within the cyber universe from a world-class faculty.

This program does not focus solely on technical knowledge but on the application of information security management principles from an executive management point of view to the real world.  Through this program CISOs  will build knowledge of the tools, techniques, laws,  and protocols needed to navigate, use, and manage security technologies as well as gain insight into the legal, social, and political dynamics of the cyber universe.

The program was developed by sitting CISOs for current and aspiring CISOs and for senior cyber security executives.

Senior Executives who understand cybersecurity and the technicalities of its mitigation, risk assessment, and policy have a competitive advantage. This course thus provides participants with opportunities to see and experience emerging cybersecurity technologies so they are aptly equipped to meet executive competitors.

The class is rigorous and requires preparation before attending.  Our program is built by a curriculum committee that includes world-class CISO, military, civilian, and academic board members and operators, designed to align CISOs for success by providing a customized curriculum that gives its students the tools and knowledge for career enhancement. Experience as a CISO is required to apply.

If accepted into the program you will have the opportunity to:

  • World Class Educators – Gain leading edge knowledge from industry experts in the classroom and through our cyber security program’s small class size.

  • Efficient/Executive-friendly – A blended learning model that combines theory and real-world experience to empower success.
  • Relationship Building  – Build and differentiate your resume and expand your network through our signature in-class team approach.

The Cyber security Certificate Program meets the same high academic standards of UCLA Extension’s graduate programs, with a challenging interdisciplinary curriculum designed to prepare cyber security executives to excel in their field.
